ABOUT THE TAPROOM
Our goal here at Scrubby's is to make beer for bowlers (and for the locals too). You won't find a list of 10%ABV, continuously hopped, barrel-aged, banana-walnut, imperial Hefe-Stout style beers here. It's not that we don't like experimental beers, because we really do. Just not all of the time. What you'll find at Scrubby's is a selection of well-made, fresh "common beers for common folks".
We have 10 taps pouring what we consider to be the standard beer styles (pale ale, IPA, wheat, amber, stout, etc.). We also have 2 additional taps for seasonal and other experimental stuff. Our fridge is stocked with Yuengling, IPAs from around the state, ciders, seltzers and wine. There is no plan to carry distilled spirits or any of the hard stuff. We consider ourselves part of the bowling alley and want to maintain a family-friendly environment where bowlers and community members can gather and socialize.
In short, we want to give our visitors a reliable selection of quality session-style beers, with the opportunity to try something different every once-in-a-while.
The Taproom was renovated from existing space within the bowling alley. If you are familiar with Lion Bowl, it's what used to be the arcade, locker-room and pro shop. We have seating for about 28 guests. We have 3 televisions and the NFL ticket.
ABOUT THE BREWERY
Despite our greatest efforts to brew on-site at Lion Bowl, we just couldn't make it happen without breaking the bank. Instead, we are setting up a 3BBL brewery off-site in nearby Dallastown. We'll be constructing a cold storage area at Lion Bowl to store the finished product and keep it fresh.
We expect to brew once a week with a yield of 6 kegs per week. Don't worry. If you're really thirsty, we can always make more.
